Our office is open 9am to 12pm for paperwork drop-off and meetings with caseworkers are by appointment from 9am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday. We are closed all federally observed holidays.

With a Section 8 Voucher the subsidy follows the individual in the private rental community and is eligible to port anywhere in the Continental USA to another participating Housing Authority. In the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and the PBVs the voucher stays with the unit and may not be transferred.
If you applied with our agency, have kept your contact information current, your position is active. Dial 518-793-2583 ext. 100 to verify your position. We updated each waitlist annually so it is very important to update mailing address and phone numbers should they change.
GFHA cannot predict availability. Vacancies occur through moves, evictions or placed/deceased residents. We cannot provide estimate.

Yes, each of the three high-rises have limited accessible units with roll in showers, larger radius, and lowered counter space. All our buildings are equipped with a step-in shower, elevators and level entrances with automatic access.
Yes, each apartment is inspected under the National Standards for Physical Inspection of Real Estate (NSPIRE) annually at recertification, new admission or under special conditions.
